Now that Ironman is in the past it is time to get cracking with marathon training once again. My two autumn marathons in Chicago and New York City are fast approaching and I have some BIG goals to hit this year.
So its finally here, RACE MONTH!!! this is the update from my two final weeks of training and how the calf injury has progressed, plus an update from Ironman on the route.
The final full month of training before taking on Ironman UK in July. This month saw me complete my first Ironman event in Staffordshire as well as a family holiday in Menorca, a good week of relaxing and resting up ready for the big day.
After mostly concentrating on running during April, this month is all about build up the biking and swimming once again. I have four running races and one 300km cycle sportive to help keep the training interesting.
Just two months until Ironman Staffs 70.3 and three until the big one, Ironman UK. April has been the month I have been building up to since starting back in November, two marathons.

Here we go then, month three of Ironman training. This is starting to move along a little too fast for my liking, how can it be 5 months until Staffordshire?? Anyway, January went well up until the last week where I got ill and missed my 10k race, so can February get any worse? I have a half marathon planned for the end of the month and some big runs on the training plan as well as one week off work to smash out some serious bike miles.
