This is my first full distance Ironman event having only previously taken part in a GoTri, one sprint distance and last months IRONMAN 70.3 STAFFORDSHIRE. I am still new to triathlon and certainly still learning about the longer distance. My goal for Ironman UK is to simply get around and finish the event, if possible come… Continue reading IRONMAN UK 2018 RACE RECAP
This is my recap of my time at Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire. This was my first middle distance triathlon and first Ironman event, I was using this race as a bridge between the sprint distance and full Ironman which I am taking on next month.
The second race of the day and the second time I have ran the Great Manchester 10k. Two years ago this was my very first race, I turned up with probably 5 training runs under my belt and never ran the distance before. This time around I was turning up having ran a half marathon PB in the morning over in Liverpool and over 2,500 miles of running in the legs.
Having ran the Rock n Roll Liverpool 5k and marathon in 2017 and really enjoying both races as well as scoring a PB in both, I wanted to return this year to have another go at the 5k and try to set a new half marathon PB.
This is my write up of my experience running the 2018 Virgin London Marathon for the British Heart Foundation. I was running in memory of my mum who sadly passed away following a heart failure and never got to see me complete this journey.
12 months ago I ran my very first marathon in Paris. Today I ran marathon number 6 in Manchester with a more ambitious goal of running under 3hours 30 minutes. Coming just two weeks before the London Marathon, I have been in two minds about how to approach the Manchester Marathon all through training. In the end, I thought it was best to give 100% and just run it like any other race. Holding back can often result in injuries.
My first proper race since the NYC marathon 4 months ago. Training has gone pretty well since, although all of that training has been endurance work in preparation for the Manchester & London marathon's in April. So the big question was, how is my half marathon pace looking? can I run close to my PB pace or have I lost some of that speed during the endurance training.
